Poem to the monster from another character

Ivy, Ivy, I am the one who created you A witch I bet you did not have a clue Let me words be a message Spread evil on the people Who have called you a lowdown bitch Develop a signal Ssssssssssss Crashing down like a missile Trap 'em like tangled chain And send them to the hospital Get into their head and redirect them to home like a homerun Didn't see Ivy hit the bat? That's because she is already slitherin Sssssssssss I have said what I said A start and a end A message to be read and leave the others dead

Story

In the times of old, there were people capable of using an interesting property that most would call magic. These beings that were able to use this ‘magic’ are called witches, who were thought to be abnormal to other humans. These witches were rare to find amongst humans due to the hunt for their heads for using magic. There stood a witch, who normally stayed among humans with ease due to her ability to trick those into thinking she was normal. She lived peacefully along with a male who had figured her out, but instead of giving her out to the people, he protected her and showed kindness towards her. Such an emotion towards witches was rare to even themselves. These peaceful days continued only for short when a townsman had suspected this male, the guard following the word of the town with no stop, they took him in and placed him among execution under the heresy of protecting a witch. The witch whom had lively peacefully among this village soon only felt one thing due to this action c...

Psalm

Psalms 27 King James Version This Psalms talks about walking in the light of the Lord and fearing him in a respectful way. Being  in a strong relationship with God causes one to have the type of protection nobody or nothing else but God can provide. The type of protection that hides one but also let’s one be known to the world to show off the protection God has given one. The Lord  can keep one confident in difficult situations and around enemies. God will never turn his back on one no matter how much one sins. Some symbolism is from verse 1 “The lord is my light and my salvation” meaning my guidance. A theme gotten from this Psalms is when all else fails one will always be able to count on God do to his unconditional love from everyone.

readers profile

As a reader i have gained many strengths and noticed my weaknesses when reading. My strengths in reading are time management, annotating when needed, and using contexts clues when coming to a word I am unaware of. My weaknesses are comprehending the text when it is uninteresting, and being easily distracted. In prose the meaning and idea are right there in the paragraph so it would be easier to analyze than a poem which is a strength. With poems relating with the topic the author speaks on is a strength and since it does not  have to be grammatically correct some of the slang used in poems make it easier to comprehend. Some weaknesses with poems is analyzing the deeper meaning and finding themes. Reading helps my imagination and creativity expand and also helps me speak correct grammar. My passions in reading is reading a good book that makes me want to read more. My peeves in reading is reading a book that is not interesting or can keep me wondering what will happen next.

a lesson before dying : reflection

The novel "a lesson before dying" is about a man named Jefferson being in the wrong place at the wrong time, which leads to him going to jail and sentenced to be executed. while being sentenced he was called everything that he wasn't. Such as boy and hog. His grandmother ,miss Emma, insisted that Jefferson dies with dignity so she asked her friend, Tante Lou, if her nephew , Grant Wiggins, could teach him and educate Jefferson on the strong and dignified man he is before his is executed. grant really didn't want anything to do with Jefferson but, for the sake of miss Emma he did. This novel sets an emotional tone in this book once grant and Jefferson actually come together. Grant sees no potential in Jefferson due to the way of how Jefferson feel about himself. Jefferson was constantly called a hog by white men and soon enough he started to believe. It worsened when Jefferson at one point started to act as if he were a hog. Even though Grant could've , he didn...

Dear Mr. Grant, I see that you are in a difficult situation and understand that you have a lot on your shoulders to carry.   I feel like if you really didn’t want to do it, you wouldn’t have. The first thing you need to do is ask yourself is “Is he a hog?”. If your answer is no and you know that your doing the right thing there should be nothing to stop you. You need to understand the young man and relate to him. What is he being called and told when your not there with him? You don’t know. He sitting in a cell by himself thinking of who knows what. Bare with him. He’s going through a lot and need somebody like you to be there for him and guide him. He needs somebody like him. A young black man that has to experience the same thing experiences in our society. Don’t give up. Continue to talk to him wnd let him know he’s not alone. Sincerely, advice columnist
