As a reader i have gained many strengths and noticed my weaknesses when reading. My strengths in reading are time management, annotating when needed, and using contexts clues when coming to a word I am unaware of. My weaknesses are comprehending the text when it is uninteresting, and being easily distracted. In prose the meaning and idea are right there in the paragraph so it would be easier to analyze than a poem which is a strength. With poems relating with the topic the author speaks on is a strength and since it does not have to be grammatically correct some of the slang used in poems make it easier to comprehend. Some weaknesses with poems is analyzing the deeper meaning and finding themes. Reading helps my imagination and creativity expand and also helps me speak correct grammar. My passions in reading is reading a good book that makes me want to read more. My peeves in reading is reading a book that is not interesting or can keep me wondering what will happen next.
